Workshops

Our workshops provide an opportunity to learn about managing allergies and to connect with other people and families going through similar experiences. Our two most popular workshop topics are 'Newly Diagnosed' and 'Starting School'.

We have plenty of workshops lined up for 2024, including new family workshops and school holiday art workshops. See our upcoming schedule below.

Saturday 25 May (2pm-4pm) – "Growing Independence" Family Workshop

Between the ages of 8 and 12, children begin to assert their independence, spending more time away from parental care attending events like birthday parties, sports activities, and hanging out with friends. This transition can be a period of adjustment for the whole family. It's crucial to support the initiation of allergy management practices from parent to child during this time.

We invite the whole family to participate in our "Growing Independence" workshop.
Parents will explore topics such as adapting to changing dynamics, teaching essential allergy safety practices, modelling advocacy, and fostering effective communication. While children are empowered to take an active role in their allergy management, learning the importance of carrying and administering medication, recognise symptoms, and advocating for themselves.
